Door To Door

The AT&T door to door salesman just left my house.

He tried to sell me their internet. Already have it.

He tried to sell me their cell phone service. Already have it.

He tried to sell me their tv. Don’t need it, don’t want it.

If you’re going to sell to a fairly random group of people (one at a time) chances are you’re going to end up having wasted your time with some (or a lot) of people. It’s hard to sell to people you know nothing about.

So maybe you say it’s the law of large numbers. But if you have to get to a large number one at a time the payoff better be worth it cause it takes a lot of time, energy and resources to stack those 1’s.

With a little bit of research he could have known I already have the first two services, what I pay for them, and that I cancelled my DirecTV two years ago. So now he can decide if he’s going to pitch me on something I actually may want or skip my house all together.

Either way is better than both of us wasting our time like we just did.

»» I can hear your question now…I answer the door because I’m curious to see if the pitch is any good.
